m not sure you could call this a car, it’s more like a tank. These things are solid and practically indestructable. Commonly used in agriculture, industry, expeditions and in the military the Defender is being increasingly bought for private use and the most modern versions spec’d to accomodate this new trend being complete with air con, leather seats, full electrics, in car entertainment etc. I’ve always said that if i end up owning a farm house in the country then i’d get one of these, or indeed just a house with a muddy drive - any excuse really!

In true Style Essentials celebration the Defender is still largely hand assembled, benefiting from no unibody structure, all its main body panels and sub-assemblies simply bolt together. This feature is what i love about the defender, all those visable bolts look fantastic. There’s no wondering why it’s the perfect vehicle for hard graft
